Well, I actually felt super lazy to post this bkk trip post. It actually took me almost two months after the trip to make an update. But still I want my memories to be put down into words on my blog so I could re-read and relieve the moments unless I forgets it. HAHAHA! It doesn’t matter if anyone reads or not. Well, overall the trip was a success and seriously unforgettable. Throughout the trip, we had 3 of Jacob’s cousin to bring us around together. THEY WERE REALLY NICE PEOPLE!
DAY 1:
We reached airport super early like 4am in the morning to have breakfast. Around 5am we’ve checked in our baggage, and guess what? FIRST TIME ON PLANE and HENG HENG GOT THE WINDOW SEAT! HAHAH! So we went in the transit area and shop a bit and waited at the gate for like almost an hour. But we did not put it to waste. So much laughing session and photo taking 🙂
Then of course we boarded the small little squeezy plane. Was super excited cause first time, but a little disappointed. HAHA! cause it was not as exciting as it seems. It’s only the taking off and landing part kinda okay.
AND TADA! We’ve reached bangkok airport! I tell you, the custom there is as slow as snail. The officers like lepak only. We wait like more than 40 mins just to get our passport chopped.
After lunch, we went to the famous SIAM area to shop. The first day really not much of buying anything. A warm up day only. OH and the amazing thing is the traffic in bangkok. The cab we took is super cute. They come in pink, green, purple, yellow and red. And they run at the speed of 140 max. In singapore, the speed is at most 90 – 110. Not a bad experience though. And we squeeze like 6 people in one cab, amazing right? HAHAHA!
DAY 2:
Today we planned to go JJ market (cha tu chak?). Supposed to wake up early and go but some of our dear mates went clubbing on the first night. so they slept alll the way till 11am? But some of us woke up early and did not waste anytime. We went to a shopping center near our hotel.
We took bus there. And their bus don’t stop at there bus stop. They slow down the bus only. Exciting right? So basically you’ll just have to run up the bus while its still moving.
Ah, I forgot the shopping center name 😦 We had our brunch there. We had……….PIZZAHUT.
We are not so bad okay, we actually take away for those who are still sleeping in the hotel. We went to JJ market around 1pm plus the journey we reached around 2pm plus. This left us 4 hours left to shop because JJ market closes at 6pm. It was a super duper fruitful day I should say. Not much photo taken at JJ market cause we were busy bargaining and buying stuff.
we shop all the way till the sun goes down. And seriously we were tired like shit but like super duper happy! We went back our hotel to put down the stuff and went for dinner later that night.
An interesting thing about bangkok’s train. Their “ez-link” chip. HAHAH
DAY 3:
We actually planned to go palio and flaoting market today. But the trip to palio was like 4hrs away from bangkok. So we change our destination to [ SUANPEUNG RESORT ]. It basically is a resort that uses flint-stone as the theme. Nothing much really. Just tour around. I still prefer going to palio though. A little bit disappointed but oh well..
The ride was VERY LONG! So we keep cam-whoring.
We had a stop over near the resort to have some food because apparently we went too early and the resort is still closed. SO the stop over was a super cool place. I have no words to describe what is it. It has many antique stuff inside for decorations. And the food were served in bamboo bottles which you can wash and bring it home. I didn’t though. HAHA
After touring around the place, we took the van and went back to the resort. FLINTSTONE! 😉
So after the resort, we proceeded to the floating market. And thanks to the van driver who lost his way, it took us super long to reach the floating market. But it was a fruitful experience. I’ve always seen floating market on TV and never been there before. And it was new to me and really amazing food with HUGE crowds too.
DAY 4:
Today, we went out of bangkok once again to PATTAYA! A place filled with caucasians and red light district. We took the ferry to an island off pattaya, koh larn island. THE BEACH WAS AWESOME TO THE MAX!
Upon reaching the island, we decided to rent motorbikes and tour around the island. With some of us no experience of driving, somethings happened. but its okay. As long as we have fun! So we paired up.
Jacob with Mindy
Me with Guixiang
Hanyao and Kwok
Akii (Jacob’s cousin) with Marcus and Jinhao
Nikii and Tik (both Jacob’s cousin)
Anyways, after riding for awhile around the island, we decided to take a break and have lunch and then continue our journey. The whole day was filled with FUN, until the end of the day we have to pay the damages we did to the bike. Not to be mentioned though. 😉
So night time of course we head down to the red light district, where (R21 alert) people come to you with leaflet stating “pussy show” and a list of entertainments show like ping pong show and tiger show. Of course we did not patronize. Even the locals know they will scam tourist money. Will we be that stupid? But we did catch a glimpse of what’s going on when those half naked girls walk out and try to get customers.
Anyway, as unlucky as I could get, I fall sick that night. Don’t know what the hell went wrong. Luckily I’ve bought panadols. Mindy was kind enough to accompany me back to the hotel and rest. I K.O once I touch the bed. The rest of them went club searching I guess?
DAY 5:
Early in the morning, we took the van ride back from pattaya to bangkok. We’ve reach bangkok about 12pm on the dot. After which, we went to the street across the hotel to have the wonderful basil leaf mince pork rice AGAIN. It was like the first day that we’ve arrived. Then we had no plans. So we decided to go back to SIAM and shop. This time round we’ve split up. And it was kinda more efficient in buying things cause you don’t have to stop and wait for everyone. Small groups make perfect shopping khakis. HAHAHA!
So Mindy, Jacob, Akki and I went to siam paragon and shop. OMG lemme tell you the hypermarket is awesome. They have this SUPER DUPER CUTE AND TASTY CANDYFLOSS BALLS! I mean just the variety of flavors alone is *thumbs up*
And in the hypermarket itself, everywhere you go, you get samples. I meant for food. I think just by walking a few rounds you can already skip your dinner. HAHAHA! So in the end, we all spend ALOT in the hypermarket. Time pass like super fast! In a blink of an eye, it was already evening time. So we headed to some other shopping mall for dinner.
We initially wanted to treat Jacob’s cousin to dinner. But only akki was there with us so we treated him only. And we finally had authentic thai food for dinner. I think the last dinner we had in bangkok was the funniest and most enjoyable dinner of my life. We laugh like nobody’s business. Thanks to Hanyao, our “patpong” star. I’ve posted the video on facebook. CLICK HERE TO WATCH .
So the night was good, but not over yet. The guys wanted to go clubbing. But some of us prefer not to. So we went to have SHISHA, drink some beer and have some really fun times.
After a few drinks, Jacob’s two other cousin came and joined us. THEN!!! 5-10 mins later, the cops came, check and close the place down for the night. How sway right? And we have to go into hiding cause we have not reached the official age yet. So the hiding became shopping along the streets near the pub. LOL!!!
We then went back to the hotel and continue drinking the worst beer ever! *singha beer*. TASTE AWFUL! Then we played poker. And loser drinks. And we have the privilege to watch akki dance. He was super shy at first but then when he started to dance lady gaga’s “bad romance”, it was so similar, we thought we were watching MV. The video is up too. HERE!
SO! The last night ended well.
DAY 6:
Early in the morning we checked out. We have to catch out flight at 830 am I guess? Anyhoo… It was problem after problems. We’ve checked in late, the queue was long, efficiency of the airport staff were slow. Then we finally get through custom. When it comes to the screening, miss kwok did not pass here screening test. We delayed for about 5 mins or so. Her bag keep going through screening but they can’t seem to find out where the problem was. IN THE END! She somehow got a personal knife? I guess? with here. LOLOL! Bringing sharp object through the custom?
THEN WE RAN RAN RAN TO THE GATE! Our gate was far far away from the check in area. AND GUESS WHAT?! when we reach the gate, they were not even boarding yet. So we kinda calm ourself down already.
AND TADA! 2 hours later, we’re back in singapore! NOT HAPPY AT ALL! HAHAH!
I REALLY REALLY MISS BANGKOK! I’M STARTING TO SAVE UP FOR MY NEXT TRIP THERE AGAIN!
P.S: I’m finally done with posting this bangkok trip. I’ve been dragging for months to post this update. AHHAHA!
